Grand Slam tennis champion Stan Wawrinka becomes NORQAIN partner as the company serves up its next landmark moment and continues its rapid rise

NORQAIN, the independent, family-owned Swiss watch company, is delighted to announce tennis legend and multiple Grand Slam Champion Stan Wawrinka as a new NORQAIN partner and ambassador of the new Wild ONE Skeleton Coral and Wild ONE Skeleton Gecko watches.

Stan is one of the greatest, most resilient and respected tennis players of his generation, a gentleman on and off the court. In a pro career spanning more than two decades, he has won 16 titles, including three Grand Slams, as well as Olympic gold and the Davis Cup with his native Switzerland. He is recognised around the world for his tenacity and sportsmanship.

Stan’s first role with NORQAIN will be to support the company’s brand development as it continues to expand around the world, leveraging his dynamic international network and his influence over the sport’s global fanbase. The partnership marks the beginning of an exciting new growth phase for NORQAIN.

“I’m super happy to be joining the NORQAIN family and to play a role in growing the company,” said Stan. “I’d been wearing the NORQAIN Wild ONE Turquoise Skeleton and testing it on court since the US Open in 2023, and just loved it. I’ve always liked wearing a watch when I play and I had high hopes of the watch given its technical specifications. Wearing it has been such a joy, and I’m so pleased that it’s led to this new adventure. And I’m super excited to walk out on court in Paris and then London as an ambassador for the Wild ONE Skeleton Coral and Gecko.”

Going into the next phase of this year’s tennis major season, Stan will serve as an ambassador for two new iterations of NORQAIN’s best-selling Wild ONE Skeleton, the ultra-robust and ultra-light high-performance sports watch with the revolutionary NORTEQ® case construction.

At the French Open in May, he’ll wear the Wild ONE Skeleton Coral, inspired by the fiery red clay of Roland Garros’s courts. And then in July, he’ll head to Wimbledon sporting the Wild ONE Skeleton Gecko, a green version of the same watch that takes its detailing cues from the hallowed grass courts.

The new Wild ONE Skeleton Coral and Wild ONE Skeleton Gecko join a collection that has been making headlines since last summer: the best-selling Wild ONE Skeleton Turquoise. Both are based on the Wild ONE Skeleton 42mm, a version of NORQAIN’s high-concept, high-performance sports watch with an open-worked dial and 5,000g shock resistance. Both models therefore feature the revolutionary NORQAIN case construction, which encases a rubber shock absorber between a top and bottom cage made of black NORTEQ®, an exclusive ultra-light and ultra-robust carbon fibre composite that can also be colourised.

The new editions feature Coral red or Gecko green detailing to pair them to the two playing surfaces. The rubber shock absorbers, minute markers and seconds hand outlines are all in Coral red or Gecko green, while the hour markers and hour and minute hands are filled with luminescent Coral red or Gecko green-coloured X1 Super-LumiNova®. Both watches are set on animal cruelty-free black rubber straps with a rubber mesh insert in either Coral red or Gecko green.

Poised inside the case is the chronometer-certified, 41-hour NORQAIN calibre N08S by Sellita, recognisable by its bespoke NORQAIN oscillating weight and visible through the watch’s sapphire case back. In total, both watches weigh a feathery 78 grammes, while offering 200 metres of water resistance. The warranty on both watches is two years, upgradable to three years with sign-up to the NORQAINER community.

Stan will be the face of NORQAIN campaigns running around Roland Garros and Wimbledon this summer. The Wild ONE Skeleton Coral and Wild ONE Skeleton Gecko will be priced CHF 5’250.

NORTEQ® is an innovative, highly shock-resistant carbon-fibre material that was created exclusively for NORQAIN and its watches in a close collaboration between NORQAIN, Jean-Claude Biver and BIWI SA. As well as being six times lighter than steel and three-and-a-half times lighter than titanium, it can also be colourised, giving NORQAIN’s designers the freedom to create and innovate. This carbon-fibre composite is made of carbon fibre, which is commonly used in the aerospace industry, and a high-performance polymer matrix containing 60 per cent bio-sourced material (castor oil).
